Prof. Kiran Walia endorses hands only CPR

In a special programme today, Prof. Kiran Walia, Minister of Education, Government of Delhi participated, learnt and endorsed Hands Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. The staff in the Minister’s office also learnt the technique.
The training was conducted by Padmashri & Dr. BC Roy National Awardee, Dr. KK Aggarwal, President Heart Care Foundation of India.
Present on the occasion were  Mr. Vikram Singh Gautam, Social Activist.
Addressing the gathering Prof. Kiran Walia said that her department will coordinate so that all school children from Government of Delhi both from the Government and the private sector are trained  in Hands Only CPR.
Dr. Aggarwal on the occasions said that the CPR Mantra is  - “within 10 minutes of cardiac arrest, earlier the better, at least for the next 10 minutes, compress the centre of the chest of the dead person with a speed of 10x10=100 per minute”.
Prof. Walia further said that Heart Care Foundation of India in association with Department of Education will train over 80,000 school children in Hands Only CPR.
